Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Plan, organize, and execute maintenance and repair activities
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve technical faults in areas such as instrumentation, piping, static and rotary equipment, DCS/PLC systems
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation and sensors
  • Operate and optimize electrical subsystems (e.g. drives, fans, relays, breakers, grounding systems)
  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, protocols, and reports (including remote troubleshooting documentation)

Customer Interaction & Field Service

  • Conduct on-site service visits and system interventions at customer locations (domestic and international)
  • Act as a technical point of contact for customers and ensure service satisfaction
  • Coordinate and supervise external service providers and contractors
  • Support the drafting and management of service and maintenance contracts

System Optimization & Innovation

  • Analyze system malfunctions and recommend technical improvements
  • Develop and implement predictive, preventive, and reactive maintenance strategies
  • Collaborate with software, process, and data teams to create digital twins, condition monitoring, and predictive fault detection dashboards
  • Support lifecycle innovation by recommending system upgrades and design-for-maintenance improvements
  • Contribute to HAZOP and risk assessment processes
  • Develop training manuals and conduct training sessions for plant operators

What do you bring?

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation & Control Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field
  • Several years of experience in service, maintenance, or operations of process or industrial systems
  • Solid understanding of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems (EMSR)
  • Hands-on experience with DCS and/or PLC systems (basic programming knowledge required)
  • Experience managing external contractors and technical projects
  • Excellent communication skills and strong customer orientation
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written); German is a plus
  • Confident using MS Office; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
  • Self-starter with a hands-on mentality, team spirit, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally and participate in on-call duty rotation
