Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Plan, organize, and execute maintenance and repair activities
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve technical faults in areas such as instrumentation, piping, static and rotary equipment, DCS/PLC systems
- Calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation and sensors
- Operate and optimize electrical subsystems (e.g. drives, fans, relays, breakers, grounding systems)
- Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, protocols, and reports (including remote troubleshooting documentation)
Customer Interaction & Field Service
- Conduct on-site service visits and system interventions at customer locations (domestic and international)
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers and ensure service satisfaction
- Coordinate and supervise external service providers and contractors
- Support the drafting and management of service and maintenance contracts
System Optimization & Innovation
- Analyze system malfunctions and recommend technical improvements
- Develop and implement predictive, preventive, and reactive maintenance strategies
- Collaborate with software, process, and data teams to create digital twins, condition monitoring, and predictive fault detection dashboards
- Support lifecycle innovation by recommending system upgrades and design-for-maintenance improvements
- Contribute to HAZOP and risk assessment processes
- Develop training manuals and conduct training sessions for plant operators
What do you bring?
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation & Control Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field
- Several years of experience in service, maintenance, or operations of process or industrial systems
- Solid understanding of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems (EMSR)
- Hands-on experience with DCS and/or PLC systems (basic programming knowledge required)
- Experience managing external contractors and technical projects
- Excellent communication skills and strong customer orientation
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written); German is a plus
- Confident using MS Office; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
- Self-starter with a hands-on mentality, team spirit, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel internationally and participate in on-call duty rotation
